On the ever-so-popular wedding date of September 10, 2011, Emily and Nigel recited their vows under the shade of a giant tree along the shores of South Lake Leelanau. Their ceremony and reception were held at Fountain Point Resort- a classic summer resort open May through October now operated by three generations of family members. The day was filled with a variety of special touches with the main focus being on friends and family. The dual purposed escort card/favor was provided by the groom’s father- the owner of Champion Hill Farm, the bride’s aunts baked dozens of cookies to satisfy the late night sweet tooth and a group of close friends were responsible for the brewed beer and mead. As the evening progressed, the glow of the extra large pole tent illuminated the calm blue waters of the lake and the happy couple and their fabulous guests kept the dance floor packed.
