Real Wedding: Andrea & Eric

Today's real wedding takes us to the vibrant radiance of Old Mission Peninsula in June. With beautiful photos from Dan Stewart, eclectic, retro decor, and a fresh berry cake from Simply Sweet by Jessica, this wedding is sure to brighten your Tuesday!

From Photographer, Dan Stewart: Andrea & Eric, high school sweethearts, had an extremely gorgeous wedding day. Starting off the day, Andrea got ready with her bridesmaids by her side dressed in matching floral robes, whereas Eric relaxed with his groomsmen enjoying a beer on an outside porch. The two planned a first look, but Eric surprised his bride to be with a sweet, heartfelt note when the two met. Joining the couple, the bridal party made their pictures memorable and enjoyable through all the laughter and silliness, like using small, frosted cookies as props.

When the time came for the ceremony, Andrea was escorted by both her mother and father down an outdoor aisle lined with bird cages holding fresh flowers. Eric was absolutely captivated by her and having to remove his glasses, he wiped some tears. The ceremony was very personal and laughter was a theme throughout the entirety of it. When the couple took their first kiss as husband and wife, they walked down the aisle hand in hand as their guests threw dried flower petals on them.

They headed to the reception in a amazing white, wooden barn where they cut their wedding cake topped with berries and danced under a huge golden chandelier, all the while laughing through the night. It was certainly a day full of joy, love, and great memories. Congratulations Andrea & Eric. May God bless your marriage!

Details from the Bride on Sandy & Steven's Cherry Basket Farm wedding:

"My husband and I met in culinary school, so what better way to celebrate our passion for food and love of Michgan than a farm to table wedding? Everything down to the alcohol was local. All of our vendors were truly amazing and created the most perfect day including the weather and sky!" - Sandy

Covered in muslin and burlap, this rustic Michigan straw bale seating was such a great touch. Pops of color came into the picture with throw pillows in the wedding colors of coral and navy. Small coffee and end tables made from farm crates rounded out the soft seating areas. The guests loved the straw bale seating and couldn't stop commenting on how sweet they were. Way to go, Karen!

From the bride: "When planning the decor, there was one thing we knew: Haybale Lounge Furniture was A MUST  for me and my mom."  - Karen

Aimee & Benjamin's  Cherry Basket Farm wedding in Omena, Michigan, was a lovely event with such a great vibe! Rich in detail and beautifully laid back, the crowd enjoyed the best Cherry Basket Farm has to offer. I really enjoyed working with Aimee and Benjamin- they knew what they wanted from the beginning of the planning process, which made my job easy. They were looking for an intimate, laid back outdoor celebration, focused on food, friends and family. Many of the guests traveled from afar (Spain!) to attend, and had not met one another. A Friday barbecue featuring house made porchetta from our in ground-oven was a fantastic kick-off event for the guests.  For wedding day, a long cocktail hour and a menu that was designed to promote mingling all aided in the setting the scene. Aimee created beautiful and chic details with her stationary, linen, fashion, and floral choices. Coffee, local fruit pies and a dance party in the barn rounded out the blissful evening. Cheers to you, Aimee & Benjamin! xo

From the Bride about her choice of vintage bridesmaids dresses:

"Growing up with a love of old things & owning a vintage shop, picking a favorite decade is very challenging for me. I love so many different things about every era & my personal style is very eclectic. It's very common to find me wearing a blouse from the 20s with a sweater from the 70s & a modern skirt. So I wanted incorporate the 20s-70s in our wedding details. I found my 1930s wedding dress at one of my favorite vintage shops, Dear Golden. From the moment I tried it on and the peachy colored lace hit every spot just right, I knew it was the one! I didn't have to have a single alteration made which is really really rare because I'm the alteration queen, everything in my personal closet has little tweaks. My reception dress was the complete opposite of my ceremony dress, It's from the 50s & a super fun little party dress… it was made to dance & twirl! Another one of my favorite details was the bridesmaids dresses, I assigned each of them with a decade that suited them best starting with the 20s-70s & they got to pick they're ivory dresses! It was such a fun process, all the bridesmaids were really happy with their dresses & can wear them again! I styled them with the same shoes & accessories (Swedish Hasbeens & custom gold twig bracelets from Dallas Maynard)." -Samantha
