On an overcast day in Ludington, Hallie and Eric tied the knot. We are absolutely enchanted by the dusky blue and shades of soft pink in this beautiful, vintage design. The joy and love on Hallie and Eric's faces is contagious and we absolutely cannot get enough of Hallie's fun, dancing ready, second gown! Thank you Shelby of The Day's Design for sharing this delightful wedding with us!
From Shelby of The Day's Design: Hallie had a love for all things vintage… and of course for Eric. While all the details from this wedding were thoughtful, charming, and downright gorgeous – the word I would most use to describe this day was fun. The couple had a burst of energy that illuminated every corner of the room and the smiles that they shared were contagious.
They chose a quaint horse farm not far from the shores of Lake Michigan to host their celebration. The venue had a large log cabin for getting ready, an awesome barn for the party and plenty of wide open spaces and rolling hills, which formed the perfect ceremony backdrop.
When we began talking about the wedding design, Hallie had this gorgeous dusty blue color swatch which served as her primary source of inspiration – along with loving arrangements in wooden boxes. While she loves pink, in order to keep the design from becoming too overly feminine, we allowed shades of the blush, coral, and brighter fuchsia to naturally introduce themselves through the vintage china and flower selections, but also keeping blue at the forefront of the design plan.
The morning of their wedding, just as setup was about to begin, the heavens let down some nasty storms and my wedding planning heart began to panic. Storms over Lake Michigan are so unpredictable but we carried on.
Hallie and Eric opted to have a quiet moment to themselves before the ceremony, keeping the first look of the day a private occasion. Shortly thereafter, under beautiful sunny skies, Hallie’s mom guided her down the aisle where the couple pledged their love to one another and then the real celebrating could begin.
Since they had opted for a first look, they were able to travel to a beach which was just down the road for a few wedding party photos. Wedding pictures at the beach are always a beautiful idea.
Cocktail hour was hosted poolside with live music, the reception was tented, dancing took place in the barn, and the party lasted all night. This is when the fun really began. Hallie changed into a better suited dancing dress, donned some rocking shades, and the Lakeside Weiner Wagon showed up just in time to keep the dance floor energized and bodies moving throughout the night.
“We truly had the best day ever”. – Mrs. Hallie LaFever.
