The bride described her wedding as the quintessential simple Northern Michigan outdoor garden wedding. Many of the out of town guests were exploring Northern Michigan for the first time and rented homes for the week.  They wanted the wedding to be a nice finale for the guests and Stafford’s Perry Hotel in downtown Petoskey was perfect!  It’s a favorite destination for weddings in the Northern Michigan area especially for couples that are hoping to have a wedding with a garden party atmosphere.  The Rose Garden at the Perry is ideal and overlooks Little Traverse Bay.  The wedding coordinating team at the Perry is wonderful too and does a phenomenal job helping to plan every last detail.

SILVER PLATTER GUEST BOOK

Angie and Chris had a unique guest book idea that will last for generations.  They chose to engrave their names on an antique silver serving tray and then use that as their “guest book.”  A special pen allowed each of their guests to sign the tray so that Angie and Chris would always have a special record of the friends and family members that joined them for their big day.

Angie and Chris returned to Angie's hometown of Petoskey for their wedding and all of the festivities that surrounded the big day.  Both were super excited to share the beauty of Northern Michigan with many of their guests that would be traveling here from out of town.  The Rose Garden at Stafford's Perry Hotel was the perfect place to host their outdoor wedding and share local favorites like white fish, cherries, Fustini's oil, and Kilwins chocolates. Once again the sunset on the Little Traverse Bay was spectacular!

TRANSPORTATION | MACKINAW TROLLEY COMPANY

Hannah and Joey’s ceremony was held in downtown Petoskey at St. Francis Catholic Church, and was followed by a beautiful reception at the Bay Harbor Yacht Club.  Although the distance between to the two venues is only a couple of miles, they decided to hire transportation for the wedding party after the ceremony.  The Mackinaw Trolley Company was great for their large group and a fun way to arrive all together at the Yacht Club.

Out Of The Blue: Petoskey Michigan in Autumn

There's nothing like living in an area where you're guaranteed four seasons.  As unpredictable as Michigan weather can be, we can always count on that window of time between summer and winter that lets us acclimate to the cold that's about to hit us.  What do you think of when you see these clear skies reflected in the calm waters and the unmistakeable red and golden leaves at the horizon?  Your favorite sweater?  Jumping into a pile of leaves?  It's a short season, but how can you not love autumn in Northern Michigan??
