Though there's no snow on the ground, it feels like winter. It's holiday season for sure. There are lights, trees, music, and shoppers everywhere. This week I thought, why not get in the holiday spirit and have some fun as well? So I'm combining my love of weddings and Christmas with my little known (and little used) background in film to bring you...
Holiday Wedding Movie Favorites
Christmas in Connecticut
A classic 1940's holiday flick filled with slapstick humor and carriage rides. This movie has the most idyllic setting for the least planned wedding ever. But the judge doesn't mind waiting around while the bride and groom get their lies straight, as long as he has a Manhattan in hand and is home in time for Christmas.
A Holiday Engagement
Engagements are made and broken all over the place in this Hallmark original. With the promise of a wedding before Christmas, the real question of the movie isn't when the heroine will be married but to whom.
It's A Wonderful Life
Who can forget the simple wedding with the sweetest honeymoon ever? When their travel plans are interrupted by the stock market crash, the newlyweds spend a rainy honeymoon in a run down house with posters of tropical getaways on the walls and their friends singing love songs through the windows.
One of my personal favorite wedding scenes of all time - when the bride and groom are walking down the aisle and musicians spring up from the audience to play "All You Need in Love." I am still waiting for this to happen at a wedding I'm planning/attending. Food for thought.
