My Name is Glory and I have been creating wedding and special occasion cakes for almost 20 years now. From an early age, standing on a foot stool with my grandmother by my side, I started my journey in baking. At twelve I helped out at a local New Jersey bakery every summer, designing cupcakes for the customers my grandmother and I waited on. By eighteen, I transplanted myself to Northern Michigan and immediately found employment at the nearest bakery making cookies, pasties, decorating cakes, and serving customers daily. A favorite place of mine was the cake decorating room, so a year later I decided to get some training and attended The Wilton School of Cake Decorating. I completed all courses and Tas T Creations was created! In 2007 I participated in The Mackinac Bridge 50th Anniversary Cake Contest. I ended up winning and beat out ALL competitors from various cities in Michigan based on design and taste. The competition certainly gave me the confidence I needed and brought great attention to Tas T Creations. I am known for the variety of delicious flavors and fillings offered, from M&M to Raspberry Rumble. Delicious Satin Ice© Fondant and homemade Swiss Buttercream are all on the menu! Any given day throughout the year you can find me delivering one of my "Tasty Creations" to Mackinac Island, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Sault Ste Marie, Traverse City, and beyond.
How did you get into the wedding industry?
I started out working at a local bakery in Michigan and I could not stay out of the cake decorating room! I was fascinated by the creativity of decorating cupcakes and cakes.
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as clean, modern & unique.
What is your favorite part of a wedding?
My favorite part of any wedding is the Bride & Groom’s first dance. I am a huge advocate of love, marriage and everything that goes with it! Being married for 18 years now I absolutely love my marriage and husband, which I feel is hard to find these days, so seeing the bride and groom completely in awe of each other is a great feeling!
How far in advance should a couple look into booking your services?
I book up 1 year in advance for weddings, birthdays, etc. and also for tastings.
What advice do you have for couples about the planning process?
Work together on planning and make it as fun as possible for each other! Compromise is love. It started with the two of you, it is about your love, and it is YOUR day! The most important thing is to take everything lightly and remember why you’re planning this beautiful day.
What do you love about living and working in Northern Michigan?
Being born and raised in New Jersey, (20 minutes outside of Atlantic City) moving to Northern Michigan has certainly been an adjustment! But I honestly can’t imagine being anywhere else. The sights, sounds, and smells are amazing here. Northern Michigan is one of the biggest destination wedding spots because of its beauty! The tranquility is what I love the most! The overall feeling you get here and mentality you settle into after moving from city life is great for the soul, no matter your age.
