We are a husband and wife team based in Traverse City but we travel all over the country and the world. We both love to laugh and surround ourselves with funny, unique, passionate people. Our faith in Jesus is the reason we live, breathe, love, grow, create, and have hope.
Because we are married we understand the challenges and great benefits that come with working together as husband and wife. We have been blessed with a successful career and a great marriage. We want to spread the joy and encourage others in their marriages. We become great friends with our couples and create an unforgettable experience.
How did you get into the wedding industry?
We started out documenting our children’s lives when our passion for photography began to develop. We enjoyed capturing those moments in life which lead to photographing other people. We both noticed a similar desire for storytelling begin and our passion for people, for love, for being around people in love and celebrating marriage took root. We absolutely LOVE capturing those amazing moments during the wedding day.
How would you describe your style?
Great question. I think we would say Enduring and Eclectic. We want our photography to tell the story of the wedding day, so we approach weddings with a photojournalistic style looking to capture those specials moments. Also, we both LOVE fine-art portraiture. We like to provide images that are timeless in style. We are all about minimal editing and post-processing, which ensures an enduring look to the photographs.
What is your favorite part of a wedding?
We have lots of favorites but our tops would be those candid moments of guests; heads back with laughter, the tears of joy from family members and obviously creating artful images with the bride and groom. Capturing those stolen glances, the flirtatious smirk, the emotional tears and love shared between the couple. Eek! LOVE it!
What are some of your favorite trends from this wedding season?
First looks with not only the bride and groom but with the bride and her father. Fun, creative, choreographed first dances. The 10-minute rule, which we like to incorporate into the wedding day timeline. This happens immediately following the ceremony where the bride and groom follow us to a private spot and take a few minutes alone to geek out and soak in the fact that they are finally married before they are whisked away for the rest of the days celebrationsAll the planning comes down to this moment, their first day of forever. Almost all of our couples incorporate the 10-minute rule into their day.
What advice do you have for couples about choosing a photographer?
Definitely find a photographer that you mesh well with. We like to say when beginning your search, obviously you are looking at portfolios and seeing how the images make you feel and if you like the photographer’s style but you definitely have to connect with your photographer[s] too. We like to get to know our couples and in doing so we become good friends which helps eliminate stress on your wedding day. You want to feel are confident in your photographers and feel comfortable around them. You might not want the loud, belligerent, bossy photographer telling you want to do. Instead, opt for the friendly storyteller with a passion for creating artful images.
How far in advance should a couple look into booking your services?
We are usually booked out around a year in advance so definitely as soon as you have a date and venue selected, reaching out to book your photographer is the next important step.
What advice do you have for couples about the planning process?
Simply put…Have fun! Enjoy these moments of planning, try not to stress about it because in the end, you are marrying your best friend, the love of your life. You get the spend the rest of your days in the arms of the one you love and laugh with. That is all the matters.

Oh gosh, every time we create a photograph we pause, take a breath and stand in awe at the beauty of Northern Michigan. We feel so blessed to live in such a GORGEOUS place. Seriously, after every photo session we talk about how marvelously diverse the landscape is and how stunning the area is that we get to call home. We get to meet some incredibly amazing people living in Northern Michigan as well. :)
